While fewer winning lottery tickets were sold in September than any other month, Publix still comes out on top with most winning tickets.

Fantasy 5 game tickets start at $1, and the lucky player bought theirs in West Palm Beach, a roughly 70-mile drive north from Miami. It was sold at the Stop & Shop convenience store on Westgate Avenue, the Florida Lottery wrote on its website and in a news release.

According to a news release from the Florida Lottery, Frieda Reyes Ortiz, 68, claimed a $1 million prize from the Gold Rush Limited Scratch-Off game. The winning ticket was sold at the Circle K on 7530 Forest City Road in Orlando.

Nobody won the Cash 4 Life and Powerball jackpots or the Fantasy 5 evening draw. But, the afternoon draw of 3, 7, 12, 26, 36 made a ticket bought at El Palacio Supermarket, 995, SW Fifth St., worth $50,447.

While nobody found the numbers to claim the Florida Lotto, Powerball and Cash 4 Life jackpots, a Fantasy 5 player at K & S Food Store aka Right Stop Food Store, 592 SW 27th Ave., hit the midday draw. That person got peak return on investment by picking 3, 13, 14, 26 and 31, turning that $1 play into a $54,913 ticket.

A lottery player turned a $10 ticket sold at a Florida gas station into a $2 million jackpot prize. Pamela Funk of Dixie County has claimed the top prize as a one-time sum of $1,370,000, the Florida Lottery said in a Sept. 18 news release.
