Marriott announced that it would lay off more than 800 employees but said that it wouldn’t affect hotel staffing.

Now that Marriott International has doubled in size over a decade, it saw an opportunity to rethink its organization and restructure for efficiency.

Marriott, which is headquartered in Montgomery County, Maryland, is expected to cut corporate jobs. In a statement to DC News Now on Monday, Marriott said that staffing at hotels are not included in the job reductions expected in the first quarter of 2025.

Marriott is restructuring, a company spokeswoman told News4. “Earlier this year, we began a strategic review of all aspects of Marriott International’s business across geograp
