Former Minnesota Golden Gophers head football coach Tim Brewster is reportedly leading another program. According to NBC Sports, the Charlotte 49ers on Monday fired head coach Biff Poggi and named Brewster the interim coach. Brewster, 64, was the associate head coach and tight ends coach this season.

Charlotte football just created the newest NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision head coach opening. The 49ers have fired Biff Poggi, per ESPN College Football insider Pete Thamel on Monday evening. Poggi spent only two seasons with the American Athletic Conference program.

Charlotte football travels to FAU Stadium to play the Owls this weekend. Both schools parted ways with their head coaches Monday.
