A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car Saturday morning in East Orange, authorities said. The person was hit shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Ampere Plaza near the corner of Whitney Place, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said. Officials didn’t identify the pedestrian, saying only that the investigation is ongoing.

The St. Louis County Police Department reports a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. They say a man was hit and killed near the intersection of Jennings Station Road and McLaren Avenue.

Sunday's accident is the 12th pedestrian fatality this year according to the Florida Crash Dashboard, administered by the Department of Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
