The Minnesota Vikings placed rookie kicker Will Reichard and All-Pro long snapper Andrew DePaola on injured reserve on Tuesday, forcing a midseason switch at two vital positions for at least the next four games.

Special teams coordinator Matt Daniels said that he first learned of Reichard's injury after the kicker's first extra-point attempt on Sunday night and called both players' injuries a big loss for the team.
