Live Nation Canada announced Thursday that it’s constructing Toronto’s largest purpose-built outdoor concert venue at the former site of Downsview Airport. The open-air facility, which will host up to 50,000 attendees when it opens next June, will be called Rogers Stadium.

The former Downsview Airport was chosen as the venue's location due to its "proximity to major transportation and transit connections."

The concert promoter will open Rogers Stadium in June 2025 on land where earlier plans for a giant film studio complex have been shelved.

Live Nation has revealed plans for a new 50,000-seat outdoor stadium in north Toronto, aiming to host top-tier global music performances. Scheduled to open in June 2025, the venue will be located on land formerly part of Downsview Airport.

Rogers Stadium will be the largest attraction of its kind in the city, including the biggest venue purpose-built for music.
