The US Supreme Court on Friday left in place a Pennsylvania court ruling that is expected to expand options for voters whose mail-in ballots are rejected for technical reasons to have their votes counted,

The Supreme Court cleared the way for Pennsylvania voters to submit provisional ballots as a remedy for improperly cast absentee ballots in the presidential election.

The Supreme Court on Friday turned down an appeal from the Republican National Committee and refused to disqualify Pennsylvania voters who had sent in a mail ballot with an error on the envelope. There were no dissents.
