Top Justice Department antitrust officials have decided to ask a judge to force Alphabet Inc.’s Google to sell off its Chrome browser in what would be a historic crackdown on one of the world’s biggest tech companies.

The U.S. Department of Justice is preparing to ask a judge to consider pushing Alphabet’s Google to divest its Chrome browser, according to reports Tuesday, as the Biden administration’s top antitrust officials makes a last push to crack down on the tech industry before leaving office.

The latest rumors also add that the DoJ may also be considering requiring measures related to AI and the company’s Android smartphone operating system.
