The preliminary round of the competition kicked off Thursday morning, Nov. 14, at 7 a.m. and ran through 10:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17.
Castle Band finishes 9th in the nation
The Castle Knights Marching Band finished in the top ten in the nation at the Bands of America Grand National Championship. The band came in 9th place on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis after beating out 104 other schools from across the country.

Bands of America announced the winners of its Grand National Championships on Sunday, and two Indiana schools finished in first and second place. According to a Facebook post from Bands of America, Avon High School was crowned the grand champion just after midnight.
