ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Braves bounced back from a stunning loss in the first game of a makeup doubleheader, claiming the last postseason berth with a 3-0 win over the Mets in the nightcap Monday after New York clinched a playoff trip with an 8-7 victory in the opener.

The Diamondbacks needed some help from the Mets to make the 2024 MLB playoffs. They didn't get it, putting the Braves into the postseason instead.

It's official, the Mets are playoff-bound. After a crazy final two innings, the New York Mets won the first game of Monday's doubleheader. The 8-7 triumph over the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park was nothing short of insane. The doubleheader was certainly played in the spirit of October baseball.
